Do US citizens need a visa to visit Uzbekistan?
+
No. Since January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan offers visa-free entry for US citizens for stays up to 30 days. You only need a passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Citizens of most EU countries, the UK, and many other nations also enjoy visa-free access — check our visa guide for full details.
Is Uzbekistan safe for travelers?
+
Yes. The US Department of State currently lists Uzbekistan at Level 1 — the lowest travel advisory level, the same as most of Western Europe. Petty crime is rare in tourist areas. Our DMC partner has been operating tours for over 20 years and prioritizes traveler safety. We provide a 24/7 emergency contact during your trip.
What's the best time to visit?
+
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are ideal — mild temperatures (15–28°C), clear skies, and fewer crowds. Summer (June–August) can reach 40°C; winter (December–February) is cold but quiet and atmospheric. We run tours year-round, with most travelers choosing April–June or September–October.
How do I pay for the tour?
+
After confirming your booking, our DMC partner sends an invoice with two payment options: (1) international bank transfer (SWIFT) — no card fees, but your bank may charge transfer fees; (2) Visa or Mastercard online — convenient, with a 3% processing fee added by the payment provider. Full payment is required no later than 30 days before arrival.
What's included in the tour price?
+
Accommodation in our selected hotels (double or twin sharing, 7 nights), daily breakfast, all transportation in air-conditioned vehicles (sedan for 1–2 travelers, minivan for 3–7), economy-class fast train tickets between cities, an English-speaking local guide for all excursions, mineral water during the day, and entrance fees to all listed monuments.
What's not included?
+
International flights to and from Tashkent, lunches and dinners (Uzbekistan has incredible food — we want you to choose freely), alcoholic drinks, travel and medical insurance (strongly recommended — see below), visa fees if applicable, tips and gratuities, porter services, photo/video charges at certain monuments, and personal expenses.
What's the actual group size?
+
Our small-group tours run with a maximum of 7 travelers. For 1–2 travelers we use a private sedan with driver; for 3–7 travelers we use a comfortable minivan. This is significantly smaller than typical coach tours and allows for real conversations, flexible stops, and a much better experience overall.
I'm traveling solo — is that okay?
+
Absolutely, solo travelers are welcome on all our tours. We offer either single-room accommodation (with a single-supplement fee, typically $200–350 per tour) or room-sharing with another solo traveler of the same gender if available. Just let us know your preference at the inquiry stage.
Do you handle dietary restrictions?
+
Yes. Halal, vegetarian, gluten-free, and most allergy-related restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice. Uzbek cuisine is naturally meat-heavy but has excellent vegetarian options too. Please tell us about your dietary needs when you make your inquiry, and our team will plan accordingly.
What about travel insurance?
+
Travel insurance is not included in our tour price, but we strongly recommend you obtain comprehensive coverage that includes medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and lost luggage. We're happy to recommend providers used by our past travelers. Note that Uzbekistan does not require proof of insurance for entry.
What if I need to cancel?
+
Our cancellation terms follow our DMC partner's policy and depend on how far in advance you cancel. Full details are on our
cancellation policy page. In short: cancel 30+ days before the tour for a full refund; partial fees apply closer to departure.
